Boat registration numbers for any U.S. state, in clean, plain block letters, cut from cast vinyl in Arizona and sold as a set of 2, one for each side of the bow. • Letter height: 3, 4 or 5 inches. Check your state boating rules for the minimum height.
• Colors: 11 colors. Choose one that contrasts with your hull, such as black on a light hull or white on a dark one.
• Block letters: choose from 6 plain, easy-to-read block fonts, all in capital letters, as boat numbers normally are. Every state uses its own format, for example AZ 1234 AB or FL 1234 AB. We cut the characters exactly as you type them.
• Material: Oracal 751 high-performance cast vinyl, rated up to 8 years outdoors. Not for use below the waterline.

Example: Arizona boat number requirements

Motorized watercraft in Arizona need state registration through the Arizona Game & Fish Department. As Arizona guidance describes it:

• Format: the number starts with AZ, then numbers, then a suffix of letters, for example AZ 1234 AB or AZ-1234-AB.
• Placement: on both sides of the forward half (the bow) of the boat, reading left to right.
• Size and style: plain block letters at least 3 inches high, in a color that contrasts with your hull, and easy to read from a distance.
• Validation decal: the yearly decal from the state goes in front of the AZ on both sides. We do not supply it.
• Not required: human-powered boats such as kayaks and canoes, and U.S. Coast Guard documented vessels, do not need state registration numbers.
